Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Advance One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) The Island, the 1980 Michael Ritchie Atlantic Ocean adventure horror thriller ("This summer the most terrifying thing in the water is THE ISLAND"; "For three hundred years, a terrifying secret has been kept from the outside world."; "The superthriller from the author of 'Jaws' and 'The Deep'"; "Based on the novel 'The Island' by Peter Benchley"; about a journalist and his son who travel to the Bermuda Triangle to investigate disappearing boats only to run into pirates) starring Michael Caine, David Warner, Angela Punch McGregor, Frank Middlemass, and Don Henderson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Charles Gehm Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare advance one-sheet (note the "Opens June 13th at a theatre near you." at the bottom of the poster). Condition: fine. There are minor creases in the poster but more so in the foldlines that aren't very noticeable or distracting. The poster was oddly folded meaning that it doesn’t form a perfect rectangle.. Note that this one-sheet came directly from an individual who worked at Universal Pictures in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. He received many samples of posters which he carefully saved. Not only are they in wonderful condition (practically brand new unless otherwise noted), but his collection includes some posters that are extremely rare, and in fact, he may have some posters which were only made as samples and never were generally distributed!
