An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Wife's Relations, the 1928 Maurice Marshall silent romantic inventor mistaken identity screwball comedy (a wacky story of a poor inventor who becomes the caretaker of a millionaire's estate, and another millionaire's daughter takes a job as an elevator operator, and she meets the poor man, and they marry, continuing to live at the millionaire's estate, who is away on vacation; she gets her father to come to see if he will invest in her new husband's invention [with some of her rich friends posing as servants!], but just when he is about to, the real owner of the estate returns, but everything works out in the end) starring Shirley Mason, Ben Turpin, Gaston Glass, Armand Kaliz, Arthur Rankin, Flora Finch, Lionel Belmore, Maurice Ryan, and James Harrison. Note that there was a 1918 movie with Rudolph Valentino called "All Night", which had a very similar plot to this, and Preston Sturges' "The Palm Beach Story" borrows elements of this movie's basic plot!

Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned one example of this poster (we sold that example twice), and that example had significant condition defects, while this one is in much better condition!

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss scattered in the bottom fold, with very little wear on the other folds. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
