An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Dick Tracy, the 1945 William A. Berke detective crime mystery action thriller ("Now on the screen!"; "He's in the movies now!"; "See him on the screen!"; "Based on the cartoon strip 'Dick Tracy' by Chester Gould") starring Morgan Conway (in the title role as Dick Tracy), Anne Jeffreys, Mike Mazurki (as "Splitface"), Jane Greer, Lyle Latell, and Mickey Kuhn. Note that this was the very first Dick Tracy movie! It is surprising that it took six years for it to reach the screen in 1947's "Dick Tracy", but once it did, it proved very popular and was followed by three more serials over the next four years, and then after a four year break, the first Dick Tracy feature film was released, which again proved extremely popular, and there were three sequels to that. There were animated cartoons on TV in the 1950s and in 1990, Warren Beatty made a live action movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still is a key book still, mounted to a linen backing. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the left of the still. Condition: good to very good. The left 1" was neatly trimmed off (see above). The top blank border was trimmed at a diagonal.
