An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Patrolling the Ether, the 1944 Paul Burnford World War II (WWII) military short ("A Crime Does Not Pay Subject") starring Richard Crane, Hazel Brooks, and Donald Curtis. Note that this was one of the "Crime Does Not Pay" series of 35 or so short subjects distributed by MGM between 1935 and 1945 (it likely was the source of the Lev Gleason comic book of the 1940s as well). Each short would show criminals foolishly thinking they could break the law without retribution, but by the end of each short, they had learned that "Crime Does Not Pay"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had paper loss at the crossfolds. There were many tears and small areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline and across the top foldline. There was a series of irregular tears at the bottom center of the title and a 4" long scratch mark in the background at lower left whit background area just above the man writing a note. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the restoration, even from a distance. Learn More about condition grades
