An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Chapter #10 (The Mystic Power) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) King of the Circus, the 1920 J.P. McGowan Universal silent circus adventure serial ("Oh, Boy! What A Thriller!!"; "The Greatest Serial of All Time"; "It's a Universal!") starring Eddie Polo, Corrine Porter, Kittoria Beveridge, Harry Madison, Charles Fortune, and J.P. McGowan. Note that oddly we could not find anything about this serial, beyond the cast. The rare one-sheets we have auctioned have great images, both with circus themes and with underwater chase scenes, so we would love to know more about this serial. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this is a "lost" serial film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that until 2020 we had never auctioned a poster from this serial. Since that time we were consigned a total of nine different chapter one-sheets (counting this one). Each was from a different chapter, and they sold for between &1,850 and $313. Now we are offering the LAST one we were consigned. For all we know, they may be the only surviving examples of each of these posters. Condition: very good. The poster is completely separated along the bottom fold and there is tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold but other than this defect the poster is in really nice condition, especially considering its age. It could be mended with conservation tape, of course, it would be a simple linenbacking job. Learn More about condition grades
