An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12" x 18"; 8 pages) (Learn More) the 1956 double-bill release of Ernest Hemingway's The Killers, the 1946 Robert Siodmak (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award) crime film noir ("From the story by Ernest Hemingway"; "Produced by Mark Hellinger"; "It's told the untamed Hemingway way!"; "Tense! Taut! Terrific!"; the screenwriter, Anthony Veiller, came up with a "prequel" to the classic short story, and he devised a very interesting and very believable back-story that would explain the actions of the characters in Hemingway's story) starring Burt Lancaster (in his first screen role; billed as "introducing Burt Lancaster"), Ava Gardner, Edmond O'Brien, Albert Dekker, Sam Levene, Charles D. Brown and William Conrad (best remembered for his starring roles in TV's "Cannon", and "Jake and the Fat Man"; also the voice of Marshall Matt Dillon on radio's "Gunsmoke") AND The Sleeping City, the 1950 George Sherman New York City medical doctor hospital undercover crime film noir ("Excitement Rips the Night!"; "When THE NAKED CITY dims her lights ...all the passions of the night awake!") starring Richard Conte, Coleen Gray, Alex Nicol (billed as "introducing Alex Nicol"), Richard Taber, John Alexander, and Peggy Dow NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook was folded across the center at one time. Because of this, this pressbook can be sent in one of our standard size packages (if it is purchased together with pressbooks that can NOT be folded, then it will of course have to be sent in one of our oversized packages).
