An Original Vintage Linenbacked English World War I Poster (measures 25" x 40" [64 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Speed the Silver Bullet, the 1915 English World War I (WWI) War Bond poster ("Buy the new government war loan"; "4 1/2 per cent per annum") encouraging people to purchase war bonds. Note that the first World War I bond issued by the United Kingdom took place in 1914.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had minor wear on the folds and around the edges, with some scuffs scattered in the solid black areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. It was backed onto a very thin linen with no excess.
