An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Japanese Export (printed for use in English speaking countries) "B1" Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) Mekagojira no Gyakushu (released in the U.S. in 1977 as "The Terror of Godzilla", and released in other English-speaking countries as "Monsters from an Unknown Planet"), the 1975 Ishiro Honda Japanese Toho kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The Mighty Titan of Terror in his Most Incredible Adventure!"; "All New! Never before seen!"; "King of the Monsters"; "Ogres from a black hole in space use monsters to seize Earth!") starring Godzilla, Mechagodzilla II (who has been rebuilt by aliens to return and battle to the end!), Titanosaurus, Katsuhiko Sasaki, Tomoko Ai, and Akihiko Hirata If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! Also note that this Japanese B1 poster was printed in Japan, but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in English speaking countries. Finally, note that this is a rare Japanese "B1" poster that measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! What IS linenbacking? Learn More UPDATED 11/01/2018: Note that we have updated the Condition information. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was used in a theater that wanted to present it as "Terror of Godzilla", so they covered over the word "Mecha" in the title. This damaged that area to where much of the red in those letters was gone. Otherwise, it had tiny paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and some creases and tiny tears on parts of the folds, with some creases scattered through the image. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking (because of the damage to the title at lower left). The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects, and the letters "MECHA" have been entirely repainted.
