An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Dragnet (written as "The Drag Net" on some advertising), the 1928 Josef von Sternberg silent romantic police detective crime mystery melodrama ("Story by Oliver H.P. Garrett"; about a police detective who thinks he killed his partner by mistake, and he quits the force and becomes an alcoholic, but later he discovers that one of the gang members had actually committed the murder, and he sobers up and looks for revenge, and part of that is finding "The Magpie", a female criminal, and he gets his revenge on the real killer, played by William Powell, and he also convinces The Magpie to reform and marry him!) starring George Bancroft, Evelyn Brent, William Powell (as Dapper Frank Trent), Fred Kohler, Francis McDonald, and Leslie Fenton. Note that most people think that this is one of the first film noirs, even though that term was not coined until many years after this movie was made! Also, this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned five lobby cards from this movie, but we have never auctioned THIS card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good. There is some scuffing in the jackets of the men, a pinhole in each corner, and some tiny dot stains scattered in the borders. Please look at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card before placing a bid. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
