An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 19 1/2" x 25 1/2" [50 x 65 cm]) (Learn More) Getting Mary Married, the 1919 Allan Dwan silent New York City romantic marriage wedding screwball comedy ("By Anita Loos and John Emerson"; a wacky story of a girl who lives with her wealthy stepfather, and after he dies, he leaves her everything, but only if she spends a year unmarried living with a respectable family in Boston, so that she will become refined; but that family wants to get the inheritance themselves, so they try to get her to leave, but she catches the eye of a wealthy bachelor, and after many complications, she marries him after the year is up, and discovers that her inheritance was $1.30 and a war bonds stamp!) starring Marion Davies (in her fifth role; in the title role as Mary), Norman Kerry, Matt Moore, Frederick Burton, and Amelia Summerville NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 19 1/2" x 25 1/2" [50 x 65 cm]. Note that this half-sheet is very old, and it would not make sense to attempt to roll it, as the paper is fragile enough that rolling it might damage it. Therefore we will send it in a large flat package. Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this poster! Note that the poster is not so fragile that it is "falling to pieces"! If it is handled carefully, it can absolutely be framed and enjoyed without any worry. Condition: fair. The poster likely originally had very wide blank borders (this was typical of silent half-sheets at this time). Someone trimmed off a portion of each blank border and then put brown masking tape on the front and back of all four borders. The poster has darkened considerably and there are some stains and scuffs scattered throughout and some pinholes as well, and someone put brown tape on the back of those. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
