An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Call of the Canyon, the 1942 Joseph Santley singing cowboy western musical ("Public Cowboy No. 1!"; "Original Story by Maurice Rapf, Olive Cooper") starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Bob Nolan & The Sons of the Pioneers, Ruth Terry, Thurston Hall, Joe Strauch Jr., Cliff Nazarro, and Dorothea Kent. Note that in 1941, the producers had the fun idea of giving sidekick Smiley Burnette (who played "Frog") a youthful sidekick of his own, and they hired young Joe Strauch Jr., who played that part in six of these movies, and naturally, his character was nicknamed "Tadpole"!

Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had many creases, smudges, and scuffs along the foldlines, with some scattered in the image. It had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges, with an extra foldline just above the top fold and several defects in Autry's face. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. Some amateur restorer did the best they could, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed.
