An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 10" x 13" [25 x 33 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Dorothy Janis was an actress from the 1920s to the 1930s. She was a beautiful Texas teenager who got some roles in silent movies, and then got her big break starring opposite Ramon Novarro in The Pagan in 1929 (which was a silent). She then made one sound movie the following year, and then in 1930, at the ripe old age of 18 she retired, marrying bandleader Wayne King two years later in 1932. Was it a mistake to retire so young, and at the height of her career? They stayed married until he passed away in 1985, and she passed away in 2010 at the age of 98, leaving behind two children, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren! Some of her movies include: Lummox, Camille of The Barbary Coast, and Fleetwing Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock and it has an embossed photographer's stamp one of the bottom corners. Also note that this still measures 10" x 13" [25 x 33 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: fair to good.
