An Undated (probably 1962) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12 1/4" x 15" [31 x 38 cm]; 12 pages) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the classic 1954 Alfred Hitchcock (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) thriller ("The master of suspense brings you his masterpiece!"; "Based on the short story by Cornell Woolrich"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a man who breaks his leg and is forced to stay at his home until he's better; during this time he observes his neighbors and does some voyeuristic detective work) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Jeff), Grace Kelly (as Lisa), Wendell Corey (as Detective Lt. Doyle), Thelma Ritter (as Stella), Raymond Burr (as Lars Thorwald), Judith Evelyn (as Miss Lonelyhearts), Georgine Darcy (as Miss Torso), Jesslyn Fax (as Miss Hearing Aid), Rand Harper, Havis Davenport (Harper and Davenport played the "newlyweds"), and Ross Bagdasarian (as the "Songwriter"). Note that Raymond Burr had appeared in movies for seven years before this, but always had minor roles, usually playing the "heavy". It would be three more years before his big break in 1957, when he became TV's "Perry Mason"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook was folded across the center at one time. Because of this, this pressbook can be sent in one of our standard size packages (if it is purchased together with pressbooks that can NOT be folded, then it will of course have to be sent in one of our oversized packages). Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! UPDATED 8/20/2010: Note that a knowledgeable collector pointed out that this pressbook was from the 1962 re-release and NOT from the 1954 first release.
