Zane Grey's West of the Pecos, the 1935 Phil Rosen romantic cattlemen family relationship melodrama ("In Zane Grey's smashing story of a roaring empire in the throes of birth"; "Richard Dix as 'Pecos' Smith roars through the mad days of the west... in Zane Grey's West of the Pecos"; based on the novel by Zane Grey; set right after the Civil War, about a southern colonel who is broke and he takes his daughter and they go out west and start a cattle ranch; the daughter dresses as a man so that she can better help her father, and amazingly, she is able to fool their foreman, who doesn't understand his strange attraction to the boss' "son", but everything works out in the end) starring Richard Dix ("as 'Pecos' Smith"), Martha Sleeper, Samuel S.
