An Undated (probably 1980s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 42 1/2" [74 x 108 cm]) (Learn More) La Dolce Vita (sometimes referred to as "Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita"; literally translates to "The Sweet Life"), the classic 1960 (released in the U.S. in 1961) Federico Fellini (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) French/Italian romantic melodrama ("Uncut uncensored now for all to see... the nights, the drunken revels, the sin and the sinners, the perverted decadence of the jet set rich who live what they call 'the sweet life'"; "The most talked about - the most shocked about film of our years"; about a successful Italian movie critic who is dissatisfied with the emptiness of his life, even though he is surrounded by rich and famous people and has a beautiful girlfriend, and he yearns to understand why) starring Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg, Anouk Aimee, Yvonne Furneaux, Magali Noel, Lex Barker, Jacques Sernas, Alain Cuny, Annibale Ninchi, Walter Santesso, Nadia Gray, and Franca Pasut. Note that Astor Pictures, which had been known for mostly re-releasing classic U.S. movies in the 1940s and 1950s, acquired the rights for the first American release of this classic Italian movie, which they released on April 19, 1961. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have seen two versions of this poster. They look identical except that one measures 29" x 42 1/2" and has white borders around the edges (and is commonly found unfolded), and the other measures 27" x 41" exactly and has no white borders. We don't think the 27" x 41" version is trimmed, both because the borders show no signs of trimming, and it would have had to have been trimmed prior to folding, so that is really unlikely. Therefore, we think the poster was either released in two versions at the same time, or just as likely the two posters are from different 1970s re-releases. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
