An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) This Theater Regularly Shows Paul Terry's Terry-Toon Cartoons, the 1950 animated cartoon comedy stock poster for theaters showing Terrytoons. Note that while Paul Terry created a different stock one-sheet during many of the years in which his cartoons were made, this stock poster was one of the nicest ones of all the ones created for Terry-Toons, as it not only pictures all of Paul Terry's greatest creations (Mighty Mouse, Oil Can Harry and Pearl Pureheart, Dinky, Sourpuss & Gandy Goose, and Heckle & Jeckle "The Talking Magpies"), but in addition, each of the characters are named on the poster, unusual for stock posters! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had much paper loss down the top 1/4 of the vertical foldline and across the left half of the top foldline. There were a few small areas of paper loss in the bottom 1/4 of the vertical foldline and in the left half of the bottom foldline. There were some areas of surface paper loss in Mighty Mouse's face and chest at top right. There were creases and smudges on the other foldlines and creases, smudges, pinholes, and small tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was extremely well backed, and the defects described above have been rendered almost invisible, even from close up, and the poster looks great! Learn More about condition grades
