Artist: Saul Bass Important Added Info: Note that everyone agrees that this poster and "Vertigo" are Saul Bass' two best posters, and it has continued to surprise me that the Vertigo poster regularly sells for much more than this poster! Personally, I like this image just as much (or better) than the image on the Vertigo poster, and I also like this movie just as much (or better) than Vertigo! I think this is an imbalance in the "poster marketplace" that is sure to get corrected over time. I see no reason why one of these posters should sell for less than the other! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and a very few creases and tiny tears on the foldlines. There were some pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. Because this poster has two very large blocks of solid background area, it is common that the restoration on the foldlines is more noticeable than it is on a poster that has more images throughout, because the foldline restoration does not stand out so much. So the person who owned this poster had a very talented restorer spend a great deal of time "blending" the foldline restoration in with the regular colors, and it truly is barely noticeable at all. The poster was very well backed, and it displays fantastically, and I envy the new owner who will have it on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
