An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) John Carpenter's Dark Star, the 1975 John Carpenter science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy outer space adventure comedy ("The Spaced Out Odyssey."; "The Mission of the Strangelove Generation!") starring Dan O'Bannon, Brian Narelle, Dre Pahich, Cal Kuniholm, Miles Watkins, and Joe Saunders NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Tom William Chantrell Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top crossfolds and fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). It had some extra creases at the right end of the horizontal fold and some tiny tears and very tiny bits of paper loss in a small part of the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
