Edith Head was a legendary fashion and costume designer from the 1920s to the 1980s. She won 8 Oscars and was nominated for 28 Academy Awards in all for movies such as Rear Window, Sunset Blvd, Vertigo, Double Indemnity, All About Eve, and hundreds more! Head passed away in 1981 at the age of 83.

Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by fashion designer Edith Head! It is her original drawing for a dress worn by Joanne Woodward in "A New Kind of Love", the 1963 Melville Shavelson romantic comedy starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Thelma Ritter, Eva Gabor, and Maurice Chevalier. Our consignor purchased a large collection of Edith Head original drawings, and we are 100% certain this drawing is authentic.

Condition: good. There are many creases scattered throughout the drawing, more so where Miss Head used watercolors, which caused the paper to ripple. There is paper loss in the right of the top blank border. The art can certainly be framed and enjoyed as it is, or it could be professionally "flattened", with or without mounting the art.
