An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Love Affair, the 1932 Thornton Freeland aviation pilot flying romantic love triangle melodrama ("Youth's cry of freedom!"; "Based on the story by Ursula Parrott") starring Dorothy Mackaill, Humphrey Bogart, Jack Kennedy, Barbara Leonard, and Hale Hamilton. This was Bogart's 10th movie. He had a starring role in a "A Devil with Women" in 1930, and in several others including this one, but he didn't really hit it big, perhaps because he had a different image from the persona he achieved stardom with. After failing to achieve major success in Hollywood, a disillusioned Bogart returned to Broadway, and then hit it big in "The Petrified Forest", and the rest, as they say, is history!
