Circus (also known as "Christy Bros. Wild Animal Show") was founded by George Washington Christy in 1919 as Christy Hippodrome Shows. Unfortunately, the circus was unable to survive the Great Depression and the last performance was in 1930. Supposedly, Christy kept his elephants and horses and they were used to help build Spencer Highway in South Houston, Texas. George Christy later became mayor of South Houston, serving from 1949 to 1951 and again from 1960 to 1964. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
