An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Midnight Cowboy, the classic 1969 John Schlesinger (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) New York City male prostitution melodrama ("Based on the novel by James Leo Herlihy"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; about a naive Texan who moves to New York to become a male prostitute for wealthy women, and ends up in a close relationship with a male street hustler) starring Dustin Hoffman (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Ratso Rizzo), Jon Voight (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; as Joe Buck), Brenda Vaccaro, John McGiver, Ruth White, Sylvia Miles (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Barnard Hughes, Viva, Gastone Rossilli, Ultra Violet, and Bob Balaban. This was the first (and only) adult movie to win a Best Picture Oscar. Dustin Hoffman not winning the Best Actor Academy Award is certainly the biggest mistake in the history of the Academy Awards! Important Added Info: Note that this six-sheet was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and on posters from the 1930s and 1940s there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Sometimes posters from the 1960s or later will have the word "SPANISH" printed in the bottom border (or sometimes stamped on the back of the poster). Also note that this six-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good. There are many creases, several tears, and some areas of tiny paper loss along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded.
