Captain America is the patriotic Golden Age comic book superhero created by Joe Simon & Jack Kirby in 1941 (at the start of World War II) for Marvel Comics, and he was "revived" in Avengers #4 in 1964. Unlike the vast majority of Golden Age characters that were revived in the 1960s, Marvel Comics did not create a new version of him, but instead had a wild story of him literally being frozen for decades, and he was literally revived as the same character! The Captain America franchise has spread to almost all forms of media including books, television shows, and films. The character is portrayed by Chris Evans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we found online that Frank Robbins and Sal Buscema did the pencils for this story, and that Frank Giacoia was the inker. There must have been an editorial decision to change the second panel on the page, because that area was cut from the original page and a new piece with the new panel was taped on from the back. In that panel, Captain America says to the Red Skull "I made a vow, Nazi", and we wonder what he said in the panel that was cut out! Our consignor was a major comic book and movie poster collector in the 1960s and 1970s, and he likely acquired this art decades ago, but we know no more than that, because he has passed away.

Condition: very good. See our images of the front and back of the art to get a sense of its exact condition.
