The company's lion trademark was created in 1858. At first they were a steelworks (creating eating utensils and hydraulic equipment), but started manufacturing bicycles in 1882. The company eventually expanded to other modes of transportation, and during World War I (WWI), Peugeot built nearly 63,000 bicycles per year, as well as 9,000 cars and trucks, 1,000 motorcycles and 10,000 plane engines. In 1926, the auto and bicycle manufacturing divisions at Peugeot were divided. Automobiles were constructed at Automobiles Peugeot, while bicycles were made at Cycles Peugeot. It had some tears, creases, smudges, and stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking.
