An Original Vintage Autographed Stage Playbill (measures 6" x 9"; 4 pages) (Learn More) Lon Chaney Jr. (son of the legendary Lon Chaney Sr.) was an actor from the 1930s to the 1970s. He was named "Creighton" when he was born in 1906, and throughout the 1920s, he worked at many menial jobs. But after his father died in 1930, he entered the movies, and was billed as "Creighton Chaney" until 1935, when a producer insisted he be billed as "Lon Chaney Jr.", and he reluctantly agreed. He did not have much success in the 1930s until 1939, when he magnificently played Lennie in "Of Mice and Men", and in 1941, he was cast in the lead role of The Wolf Man, and he repeated that role in several other Universal horror movies, and he regularly appeared in many horror and western movies in the 1950s in supporting roles, including a notable one in High Noon AND Jean Parker (born Luise-Stephanie Zelinska) was an actress from the 1930s to the 1970s. She won a poster painting competition at MGM in the early 1930s, and when Louis B. Mayer discovered that the contest winner was a pretty young girl, he signed her to a contract! Some of her movies include: Little Women, The Gunfighter, and Lady for a Day Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Lon Chaney, Jr. AND Jean Parker (it is signed on the cover of a playbill from a Denver production of this play)! Also note that the playbill comes with a "certificate of authenticity". Condition: very good. There is a vertical brown stain in the bottom of the front cover only, but it does not affect the signatures, and otherwise, the entire program is in pretty nice condition!
