We owe them houses of cheer"; "YWCA") encouraging people to support the war effort by helping the women of France, who had been doing the work that men had done while they were off at war or being killed. The poster features Lucien Jonas art of several women working in a smelter as others enter a YWCA building in the background. Artist: Lucien Jonas Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has small tears around the edges with some tiny paper loss. It had a 6" tear near the top center that was repaired with tape from the back and the tape has bled through to the front. There is also a 9" tear in the center of the bottom of the poster that was repaired with tape from the back that did not bleed through. Learn More about condition grades
