An Autographed 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Helen Forrest was a singer from the 1930s to the 1990s. She sang for three of the most popular big bands of the Swing Era (Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, and Harry James). She passed away in 1999 at the age of 82. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Helen Forrest! Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this still is authentic! Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Finally, note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall!
