An Original 1963 (from the first release of this movie in Mexico) Vintage Theatrical Mexican Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 12 3/4" x 16 1/2" [32 x 42 cm]) (Learn More)

Yojimbo, the classic 1961 Akira Kurosawa Japanese samurai warrior martial arts action melodrama ("A new film by Akira Kurosawa"; "Venice Film Festival Award winner") starring Toshiro Mifune, Eijiro Tono, Tatsuya Nakadai, Yoko Tsukasa, and Kamatari Fujiwara. Note that Sergio Leone seemingly based A Fistful of Dollars on this movie (because it has an extremely similar plot), but he did not buy the rights, and Kurosawa sued Leone and won, and was given a share of the royalties. Also note that a knowledgeable collector tells us that the 1961 U.S. first release of this film took place in major urban centers (New York, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc) before spreading out to other urban areas over the next year or so.

Important Added Info: Note that this Mexican lobby card measures 12 3/4" x 16 1/2" [32 x 42 cm].
