An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Captain Kidd Jr., the 1919 William Desmond Taylor (billed as "W.D. Taylor") silent romantic treasure hunting inheritance comedy (a wacky story of an elderly Scottish man who dies, leaving a treasure map to where his fortune was buried; it ends up in the hands of a pretty girl who offers to split the treasure with the heirs, and they agree when they finally dig it up, the chest only has a letter in it saying that the "fortune" the finder receives is the good health they get from all that digging, but the girl and the family's son get together!) starring Mary Pickford, Douglas MacLean, Spottiswoode Aitken, Robert Gordon, and Winter Hall. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving complete copies are thought to exist (two reels survive). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
