They called him 'Hondo'"; based on the novel by Louis L'Amour; a complicated story of a part Indian cowboy who kills a man and then feels obligated to help provide for that man's widow and child, and there is a Native American chief who is interested in the child, and much more happens!) starring John Wayne (in the title role as Hondo Lane), Geraldine Page (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; billed as "and introducing Geraldine Page"), Ward Bond, Michael Pate, James Arness, Rodolfo Acosta, Leo Gordon, and Lee Aaker NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D and 2D posters and lobby cards (the 2-D posters and lobby cards were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This window card is from the "3-D" release. Condition: good to very good. The poster was "gel backed", which means that it was moistened with a special gel solution, attached to a backing, allowed to dry, and then the poster had touch up while it was backed, and afterward, the backing was removed. This particular poster had a fold across the middle and some creases and scuffs scattered throughout. There were some pinholes and small tears around the edges. The poster was gel backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects. The poster was roughly handled after it was backed, and there is now paper loss in the top right blank corner and there are some creases in the left border and a tear in the right border. But the card displays pretty nicely, since these are border defects. Learn More about condition grades
