Cline (billed as "Eddie Cline") family relationship married couple comedy ("The biggest howl in history!"; "Based on the original newspaper feature by George McManus"; adapted from the ultra popular King Features comic strip) starring Joe Yule (as Jiggs), Renie Riano (as Maggie), Tim Ryan, June Harrison, George McManus (billed as "and cartoonist George McManus"), Wallace Chadwell, and Tom Kennedy. George McManus was the cartoon genius who started "Bringing Up Father" in 1913. Before that, he had drawn some other newspaper comic strips including a series of "Let George Do It" strips. In 1916, animated cartoons were adapted from "Bringing Up Father", but they were not very successful. In 1924, the Stern Brothers signed to do a series of live action adaptations of the "Let George Do It" cartoons, and they were very successful, spawning a long series, and two years later, there were live action "Bringing Up Father" movies. In 1946, a new series of live action movies started, and it was also popular, spawning several sequels. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
