Dale Earnhardt Sr. (nicknamed "The Intimidator") was an American stock car driver and team owner from 1975 to 2001. He is regarded as one of the most significant NASCAR drivers of all time. He passed away in 2001 in a three-car crash during the Daytona 500. He was 49, and died from blunt force trauma. Since then new regulations were put in place to mandate Hand and Neck Support devices for drivers.
