An Undated (probably 1940s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

Clarence E. Mulford's Hop-A-Long Cassidy, the 1935 Howard Bretherton cowboy western (based on characters created by Clarence E. Mulford) starring William Boyd (in the title role as Hopalong Cassidy), James Ellison (billed as "Jimmy Ellison"), Paula Stone, George 'Gabby' Hayes, Kenneth Thomson, and Frank McGlynn Jr. Note that solely in this very first movie was the character called "Hop-a-long Cassidy". In all future movies, he was referred to as Hopalong Cassidy.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that there is a long tear down the center of the poster that starts to the right of Boyd's hat that runs down through his shoulder and through the left of the bottom credits. The poster also has two horizontal hand folds (the bottom one is beginning to separate along the left edge). There are also many small tears around the edges (some are held with tape from the back that bleed through to the front). Otherwise, the image area is almost completely unaffected, and this is the type of poster that responds well to linenbacking as the tears will "disappear" and the tape stains should be easily removable. Also note that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult!

Condition: good.
