An Original Vintage 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm] Television Still (Learn More) Why Man Creates, the 1968 Saul Bass & Elaine Bass cartoon animation short historical comedy documentary ("The Edifice is a three minute animated sequence from 'Why Man Creates,' a study of creativity, consisting of a series of episodes in documentary, dramatic, and other film techniques.") Important Added Info: Note that this still is from the first showing of the 9/24/68 premiere episode of "60 Minutes", the first episode of this legendary news show. On this premiere, they had Saul Bass discussing this recently created movie, and they shows portions of it on the show. The still shows a scene from the movie and a scene of Saul Bass and his crew during the shooting of the film! We know for certain that this still is from the premiere episode of 60 Minutes because it has the date printed on the snipe on the back. It is very hard to find stills from 1950s or 1960s TV episodes that are absolutely from the first release, and are surely not from a 1960s or 1970s re-broadcast. Note that this TV still measures 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm]. It was printed on Kodak paper, but this is because TV stills were quite commonly printed on Kodak paper (no doubt they needed far fewer stills for TV shows than they did for movies, so it just made financial sense to have Kodak copies made rather than printing large numbers of them). We are certain it is an original TV still, and not a later copy. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
