Cassandre) was a Ukrainian-born French painter, commercial poster artist, and typeface designer from the 1920s to the 1960s. Not only did he paint, but he also designed commercial posters and typeface! He passed away in 1968 at the age of of 67. Artist: A.M. Cassandre Important Added Info: Note that this poster was originally distributed as an insert into Arts & Metiers Graphiques magazine in 1929. It was apparently originally created in 1928 as a cover to the Templier Jewelry Bijous Modernes catalogue, but it appears that it was not used for that purpose and was instead used this way a year later. It was not bound into the Arts & Metiers Graphiques magazine, but it was folded across the middle so it could be inserted, and that is the only way the poster can be found. It is printed on a heavy paper stock, that should not be rolled, but it can be sent folded, because it will not hurt the poster to do so. Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded down the middle and inserted in a magazine (see above). It has some creases, scuffs, and three tiny bits of surface paper loss around the edges, with just a few faint brown stains scattered in the white portions of the image.
