An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Blade Runner, the classic 1982 Ridley Scott science fiction (sci-fi) crime detective mystery dystopian future thriller ("Man has made his match ...now it's his problem"; "The star of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' and the director of 'Alien' take you on a spectacular journey to the savage world of the year 2019!!"; "Screenplay by Hampton Fancher and David People"; sort of a science fiction film noir; about a futuristic world where replicants work off-planet as slaves for humans, but some of them want to live among the general population; based on the novel 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' by Phillip K. Dick) starring Harrison Ford (in the title role as Rick Deckard, the Blade Runner), Rutger Hauer (as Roy Batty), Sean Young (as Rachael), Edward James Olmos (as Gaff), Daryl Hannah (as Pris), M. Emmet Walsh, Joanna Cassidy (as Zhora), William Sanderson (as J.F. Sebastian), Brion James (as Leon Kowalski), James Hong, and Joe Turkel (as Tyrell) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: John Alvin Important Added Info: Note that there are many reproductions of this "studio style" one-sheet in the hobby, most of them unfolded. We have seen many of them and returned them to the consignors because we felt they were almost surely reproductions. However, this poster does not have any of the printing defects that we have seen in the reproductions (fuzzy printing in the credits, and some slight differences in coloring from the known originals, and slight differences in the smoke at the top). Before linenbacking, this poster measured exactly 27 1/4" x 40 13/16" (but it now measures slightly differently; see below for why), and it is the extremely rare unfolded studio style original one-sheet from 1982. Please also note that that we know that there are many reproductions of this poster, and one of the ways to tell if it is an original is by the measurements. We want bidders to know that this poster is 100% original! It measures slightly different from that of unbacked studio style one-sheets, but that is because the poster's size slightly altered during the linenbacking process (this is not at all unusual). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines (typical of high-gloss posters of this period). It also had a few scuffs in the dark background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
