An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Each Dawn I Die, the 1939 William Keighley newspaper journalism jail prison convict crime thriller ("From a Novel by Jerome Odlum"; James Cagney is a crusading journalist who ends up in jail with hardened convict George Raft) starring James Cagney, George Raft, Jane Bryan, George Bancroft, Maxie 'Slapsie Maxie' Rosenbloom, Stanley Ridges, Victor Jory, Emma Dunn, Edward Pawley, and Willard Robertson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this one-sheet has been owned for decades by a collector who long ago put tape on the back of some of the foldlines (see below), and has stored it flat ever since. If we were to attempt to fold the poster, it would be very difficult due to the tape, so we will only send this poster rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has tape on the back of each crossfold and several small pieces of tape on the back parts of the vertical foldline. There is tape on the back of each corner, and on the back of tears or pinhole that were in the borders, and the tape that was in the top blank corners has bled through to the front (because it was a different kind of tape from the rest). A tiny bit had been trimmed from part of the middle of the right blank border (truly a very small amount of blank white paper). It has been stored flat for many years . It had small paper loss at the bottom crossfold, a few other tiny areas of paper loss in the vertical foldline, and many small tears and creases scattered down the vertical foldline, with a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds. There is some paper loss in the blank borders. Someone once performed slight amateur touch up to the front of the paper loss in the bottom crossfold and in the tiny paper loss in the background above the "A" of "EACH". In spite of the above many defects, the poster still displays pretty well, and I could imagine many collectors displaying this poster as it is, but it is also true that many of the defects are the sort that respond well to restoration, so whether it is restored or not, I think the new owner will be happy to have this poster in their collection, but please look closely at our super-sized image (and read the above carefully) to see exactly what its defects are.
