An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Spanish (from Spain) One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27 1/2" x 39") (Learn More) Get Carter (released in other English-speaking countries simply as "Carter"), the 1971 Mike Hodges English gangster crime action thriller ("A great tradition returns: The Gangster Movie"; "Caine is Carter"; "What happens when a professional killer violates the code? Get Carter!"; "Based on the novel 'Jack's Return Home' by Ted Lewis") starring Michael Caine (in the title role as Jack Carter), Ian Hendry, John Osborne, Britt Ekland, Tony Beckley, George Sewell, Geraldine Moffatt, Dorothy White, Glynn Edwards, Alun Armstrong, and Petra Markha NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Macario "Mac" Gomez Important Added Info: Note that this Spanish one-sheet measures 27 1/2" x 39" and that it is linenbacked. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, or it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years. You can see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. There are two areas of surface paper loss near the center of the poster above and below Caine's sleeve. There is a tear with small paper loss in Caine's chin. There is an area of surface paper loss in the right edge of the image in Caine's shoulder. There are creases, scuffs, and areas of surface paper loss at the center of the right border. There are extra creases along the bottom foldline with small tears between them and some tiny surface paper loss. There are more minor creases, scuffs, and small tears around the edges of the poster and on some foldlines. The person who backed this poster mounted it "as is", not doing any restoration. If I owned this poster I would have a good restorer either touch up the defects outlined above without backing the poster, or I would have it re-backed. In either case, the end result would be a poster that looks great, and it is really a tiny percentage of the poster that has defects. Learn More about condition grades
