The Undercover Man, the 1949 Joseph H. Lewis crime film noir ("The Inside Story of a Great U.S. Criminal Investigation!"; "Shocking bullet-by-bullet story of America's secret war on the mobs!"; "Perhaps the greatest of all crime stories"; "Based upon the revelations of Frank J. Wilson Chief of the U.S. Secret Service, Ret."; produced by Robert Rossen; completely forgotten today, Frank J. Wilson was an accountant who worked for the Treasury Department, going undercover and joining gangs, and his greatest assignment was getting hard evidence on Al Capone, which led to his conviction on income tax evasion; this movie was based on his real story, but of course, it was dramatized and fictionalized to make it more exciting) starring Glenn Ford, Nina Foch, James Whitmore, Barry Kelley, David Wolfe, Frank Tweddell, Howard St. John, John F. Hamilton, and Leo Penn

Condition: good to very good. water stains along the bottom edge of the card slightly extending into the image background; smudges and creases around the edges and to a lesser extent, throughout the card; pairs of staple holes around the edges of the card with a 1/2" tear in the middle of the bottom edge and some scratches in the upper right corner of the image background (from rough removal)
