Date Sold 11/4/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 11" x 17" [28 x 43 cm]; 2 pages) (Learn More) Night of the Living Dead, the classic 1968 George A. Romero & John A. Russo end-of-the-world science fiction (sci-fi) walking-dead undead zombie horror thriller ("They won't stay dead!"; "They keep coming back in a bloodthirsty lust for human flesh!... Pits the dead against the living in a struggle for survival!") starring Judith O'Dea, Duane Jones, Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Judith Ridley, Kyra Schon, Charles Craig, Keith Wayne, Randy Burr, S. William Hinzman (billed as "Bill Heinzman"; as the graveyard zombie), George A. Romero (the director, as one of the Washington reporters!), Russell Streiner, Ella Mae Smith, Dick Heckard, John Kirch, Paula Richards, George Kosana, John Russo, Richard Ricci, and Terry Gindele NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this herald (one of several different heralds created for this movie) measures 11" x 17", with a cool newspaper ad with the cool tagline that reads "If 'Night of the Living Dead' frightens you to death - you are covered for ...... $50,000", and below that it reads "A $50,000 POLICY covering death from heart attack for anyone in the audience during a performance of 'NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD' for this special engagement only has been obtained through a leading International Insurance Company in London." Note that we are currently auctioning two versions of this herald (in separate auctions). One is the "green" style, which we have previously auctioned, but the ones we have auctioned in the past had an ad on the back explaining how to order the heralds, which means that they were stock ones. The one we are currently auctioning has information about an actual theater on the back ("Starts WEDNESDAY NOV. 6 PROCTOR'S TROY"), indicating it was actually used at that theater in 1968 (Wednesday, November 6 was in 1968)! The other is a "red" style, which is identical to the green style, except for the color different, of course, and that one does not have either an ad on the back or the name of a theater, indicating a theater ordered it, but did not overprint it. This auction is for the "red" style. Condition: good. The herald has light water staining in the bottom left and somewhat scattered around the edges (see our images).
