An Original Vintage Japanese Calendar (measures 16 1/2" x 23 1/2" [42 x 60 cm]) (Learn More) Godzilla (Gojira) is a monster (or kaiju) that first appeared in the 1954 film Godzilla. It became a worldwide pop culture icon, appearing in various media, including over 30 films produced by Toho, multiple Hollywood films and numerous video games, novels, comic books and television shows. Godzilla was originally conceived as a metaphor for nuclear weapons, but as the film series expanded, some stories took on less serious (and often silly) themes, portraying Godzilla as an antihero, or even a defender of humanity (who still steps on a lot of buildings). Godzilla has faced off against many monster opponents, including: King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, Mothra and Gigan. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The calendar has wear along the center horizontal fold and someone touched up the wear carefully with colored pencil. It is otherwise in generally nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
