An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Maria Montez was a Dominican/American actress from the 1940s to the 1950s. Because of her exotic beauty and accent, she often played a native in jungle or south-of-the-border movies. She starred in lots of the Universal's Technicolor costume adventures, including six opposite Jon Hall (which gave her the nickname, "The Queen of Technicolor"). In 1943 she married French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont and the couple had a daughter, the actress Tina Aumont, in 1946, and soon after they moved to Europe, where Maria appeared in a handful of movies. Sadly, she died in 1951, found in a bathtub after an apparent heart attack. She was only 39 and had appeared in 27 films during her career. Some of her movies include: Pardon My Sarong, That Night in Rio, The Exile, Portrait d'un assassin, Arabian Nights, and White Savage Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Note that this still has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that the still (and many others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of the stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us! Condition: very good to fine. The still is in very nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
