An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Stage Show Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) In Person! Gene Autry with Champion and Little Champ, a 1957 live stage show performance ("The New Hit Show of 1957") starring Gene Autry, his horses Champion and Little Champ, Rufe Davis, The Strongs, Deiter Tasso, Foy Willing and the Riders of the Purple Sage, Lucky Girls, Carl Cotner and the Melody Ranch Orchestra, "and many others". Note that this particular poster is for a single performance held at Waterloo, Iowa! It is likely that Gene Autry took this stage show on tour across the United States, and it appears that this was a stock one-sheet that had the bottom area left blank, and that they would overprint the bottom with the names and play dates of specific locations for their show (kind of like a one-sheet version of a window card, but with the play dates at the bottom). But given that each show only played for a single day, it seems likely that very few of these posters would have survived, and even more unlikely that another example of this Iowa poster would have survived! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. The poster was tri-folded only. There was some minor wear on the folds, and some creases in the left half of the middle foldline. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking.
