An Autographed REPRODUCTION 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Photo (Learn More) Anne Shirley was an actress from the 1920s to the 1940s. She was born Dawn Eveleen Paris but her mother gave her the name Dawn O'Day early in her career. She changed her name to Anne Shirley during the summer of 1934 after she had been chosen to play the character with the same name in RKO's Anne of Green Gables. Some of her other movies include: City Girl, The Devil and Daniel Webster, Murder My Sweet, and Stella Dallas (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). She passed away in 1993 at the age of 75. Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Anne Shirley (she added a long inscription to a "kind friend")! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
