An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Polish Movie Poster (23x33; measures 23 1/4" x 34 1/4") (Learn More) Les Evades (released in English-speaking countries as "The Fugitives"), the 1955 Jean-Paul Le Chanois French military prisoner of war (POW) camp crime thriller starring Pierre Fresnay, Francois Perieer (billed on some posters as "Francois Perier"), Michel Andre, Sylvia Monfort, and Jacques Marin Artist: T. Jodlowski Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded once in each direction. There was tiny paper loss at the crossfold and an extra horizontal foldline just above the regular fold, with creases and tiny tears in the area between the two foldlines. There were some pinholes, creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are not very distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster). At some point after the poster was linenbacked, and there are many creases in the bottom border of the excess linen, but they do not extend into the actual poster itself.
