An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Walter Winchell was a very popular, influential and legendary newspaper columnist of the 1930s and 1940s, and he served as the basis for J.J. Hunsucker in The Sweet Smell of Success (which was originally written by Ernest Lehman, who had worked for Winchell in the 1930s). Winchell also had a popular radio show, and his voice was incredibly distinctive, and when The Untouchables became a TV show, Winchell was chosen to narrate the show in his distinctive style! He passed away in 1972 at the age of 74. Important Added Info: Note that we don't know where this still was taken or when, but it shows Walter Winchell with his daughter Walda. Note that he seems extremely protective of her and has her dressed in a fancy fur coat (which is incredibly reminiscent of J.J. Hunsucker's much younger sister in "Sweet Smell of Success", which was of course based on Winchell's life. Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Condition: very good to fine.
