An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Lobby Card (Learn More) Oh Doctor!, the 1917 Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle silent romantic love triangle family relationship horse racing gambling jewel robbery comedy short starring Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle (in the title role as Dr. Fatty Holepoke), Buster Keaton (as Fatty's son, Junior Holepoke), Al St. John, Alice Mann, and Alice Lake. Note that this short is available for viewing on YouTube, and it packs a lot of plot into its 20 minutes! Fatty is a doctor who has been gambling away the family's money at the racetrack (he has a wife and a grown son, played by Buster Keaton). Meanwhile, a thieving woman and her male accomplice decide to rob Fatty's wife after the woman sees their house. She steals the wife's necklace and after many chases (including Fatty disguised as a policeman), everything works out okay. Buster Keaton's role is to constantly laugh at his father, and each time he is rewarded by being knocked down, which he does in a comical way. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a French one-panel (which sold for $2,724) and three 8x10 lobby cards (ranging in price from $330 to $900) from this movie (and NO other movie paper). This is one of those 8x10 lobby cards that has been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of four items from this movie we have ever auctioned! Note that, in the early days of movie making, when lobby cards were first made (around 1915), studios would issue sets of the cards in two sizes; the regular 11" x 14" size, and a smaller 8" x 10" size. The cards were identical in every way except for the different size. This practice continued through the early 1920s, at which point the studios abandoned the smaller lobby cards, likely because theaters either ordered 11" x 14" lobby cards or 8" x 10" stills, and did not order enough of the 8" x 10" lobby cards to justify them continuing to make them. Condition: very good. There are a few tiny stains in the bottom left and a few faint scuffs scattered in the image. There is a 1/2" tear in the right of the bottom border. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
