They're all one big happy family in Marriage on the Rocks."; "This is Kitty... This is Lisa... This is Lola... one of the exotic ingredients of 'Marriage on the Rocks'"; "Written by Cy Howard") starring Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr, Dean Martin, Cesar Romero, Hermione Baddeley, Tony Bill, John McGiver, Nancy Sinatra, Trini Lopez (billed as "Guest Star Trini Lopez"), Joi Lansing, Kathleen Freeman, DeForest Kelley, and Sigrid Valdis NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that these are four door panels from a set of six. We have previously auctioned some of the door panels, but never a full set of six (assuming there were six in this set, which there usually were, but we have never auctioned any that are not the four we currently are auctioning). They are printed with a special paper that has a plastic coating on it. No doubt this was partially done to keep the posters from picking up fingerprint marks from those handling them, but also likely so that these could be better displayed outdoors, where the plastic coating might protect them better from the elements. This seems to be something that Warner Bros. did in the 1950s and 1960s, primarily with color stills. Sometimes, many years later, the plastic coating starts to separate from the paper, which may be why they abandoned the process. Condition: very good to fine. As noted above, these door panels were printed on an unusual special paper that has plastic coating on it, like what Warner Bros. did with color stills at this time. Apparently, this did not work well with door panels, because these are the only ones we have seen like this, and given how the ones we have previously auctioned aged, we can understand why. It seems that rather than repelling moisture, the plastic coating absorbed it! However, this particular group of 4 door panels do not have hardly any defects at all, except for a few minor creases at the top and bottom. They come to us from a former theater manager who likely carefully stored them after the movie played, and that would likely explain why they have survived in such nice condition!
