An Original Vintage 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Hairstyle Reference Photo (Learn More) Joan Leslie (born Joan Agnes Theresa Sadie Brodel) was an actress from the 1930s to the 1990s. She started acting in 1936 at the age of 11, and she was billed under her real name of Joan Brodel, and she sang and danced, and she did not get to use those talents in enough of her movies. She had her breakthrough in 1941 in High Sierra with Humphrey Bogart, and she was Joan Leslie from then on! Some of her other movies include: Yankee Doodle Dandy, Repeat Performance, and Sergeant York. She passed away in 2015 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this is a test photo used to show one of the many hairstyles that Joan Leslie wore during a movie (which is not identified on this still). The stars would wear a hairstyle from the movie and have multiple pictures taken, and then they would wear different one and repeat the process, until they had tried all their hairstyles. I wonder if major stars of today have to endure this same ritual? The studios would use these images for reference if they needed to shoot additional footage at a later time after the hairstyle was changed. Also note that it is extremely likely that this is a "key book" still, and it is virtually a certainty that the punch holes were put there by the studio at the time the still was created, so they are not a defect. Condition: very good. There are three punch holes in the left border. Otherwise, it is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
