An Undated (probably 1950s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 27 1/4" x 37" [69 x 94 cm]) (Learn More)

Aguila o Sol (literally translates to "Eagle or Sun"), the 1938 Arcady Boytler Mexican musical comedy melodrama (about three abandoned babies who grow up to become friends and create a stage act) starring Cantinflas (in the title role as Polito Sol), Manuel Medel (Cantinflas and Medel are billed collectively as "Cantinflas y Medel"), Margarita Mora, Marina Tamayo, Luis G. Barreiro, Tona La Negra, and and Manuel Arvide. Note that this was Cantinflas' third movie, and his second where he appeared with Manuel Medel. After this, Cantinflas went out on his own (with the blessing of Medel), and he became a giant star! It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned it in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie!

Condition: good. The poster has slight discoloration along the vertical foldline and some rippling in a few places. This Mexican poster is somewhat fragile. Mexican posters were printed on a paper stock that often ages very poorly, and also darkens. This poster has darkened somewhat and is more fragile along the foldlines (but of course, any talented restorer could linenback the poster, after which it would look great).
